Kung Pow: Enter Fist was released in the USA in 2002. I am not going to say it was a great movie…but I sure thought it was funny. The cool thing about this movie is that it isn’t just some third rate movie produced in hollywood. This guy that created the movie actually takes cuts from hundreds of old kung fu movies and dubs voices over the characters to say rediculously stupid things. The main character, the chosen one, was played by Steve Oedekerk. He did all of his acting in front of a blue screen and then edited it in to the movie. It was a really original idea…the plot is so stupid its funny and the dubbed voices over characters I grew up seeing in serious kung fu movies absolutely cracks me up.
Just an idiotic movie for an idiot like me. There is a scene that I found particularly hilarious…and you will be able to see it in the video below. Along with that, is a video of me and some buddies inspecting a bag of nuts in Kauai in 2003, right after the movie came out. The similarities were my idea of a joke. I see the similarities…do you?
