At this point, the last thing that summer and I though we needed to buy was another postcard now that we communicate with almost every friend of ours via email. Regardless, we went shopping around for christmas postcards while we were in Puerto Rico as the holiday was coming up. We also enjoy playing the tourist role while we are on holiday, so aside from the hour it took us to find a parking spot in Old San Juan, it was fun to stroll around the old cobblestone streets.
After fruitlessly looking through racks and racks of vintage postcards we decided to buy these two old postcards just because they were so rediculously out of date. They are practically vintage, but regardless, we bought them because of how funny they are.
It amazes me that with all of the history of San Juan Puerto Rico, the great food, rich culture and all the tourism, we couldn’t find any postcards we categorized as cool. Well, I guess that’s a lie, because these cards are too cool for school. Maybe “cool” is in the eye of the beholder…whomever that may be. Enjoy them if you dare.
This style will come back one day!
We never got around to filling them out, or even putting them in the mail but now I see that sometimes one has a higher purpose in life, or in this case, these postcards had a higher purpose in their VERY LONG SHELF LIFE.
