I ate way too many M & M’s today. I try not to snack on that shit, but when we have a big bowl of them in the office I loose track of the handfuls I grab on my way by. Today I lost control. I compulsively ate M & M’s until I felt nauseous. Which is exactly how I feel now.
This led me to research the effects of Binge Eating chocolate, or in this case, specifically M & M’s. One of the physical consequences of binge eating chocolates are the major blood sugar swings it puts your body through. These swings lead to more addictive quality cravings, stomach pain, intolerance to heat/cold and headaches. Some of the emotional effects of binge eating chocolates are depression, panic attacks, lack of concentration, hopelessness and anxiety.
So, of course I decided to follow the rabbit hole a little bit deeper. An estimated 5% of Americans are binge eaters. Binge eating occurs on average at least twice a week for 6 month increments of time. Binge eaters eat until they feel uncomfortably full (me with the m&m’s), eat when not hungery (every time I pass the jar), feel disgusted with themselves after eating (shrug) and get depressed and feel guilty when done their “binge episode.” Binge eating leads to obesity. Obesity is now fast approaching tobacco as the top underlying preventable cause of death in the USA.
Eat more Fruit
Conclusion: Eat more Fruit. Now, there is no rabbit hole here, it is more like a heavenly cloud guided by Milarepa floating you upward towards shangri la. Here are some of the benefits of eating fruit: fruit is 100% cholesterol free, fruit stimulates memory, fruit is high in fibers, fruit doesn’t make your tummy hurt, fruit is natural, like the human body fruit is made up of mostly water and if you’re not hungry, you can drink fruit!
I will admit to you, that I absolutely love playing poker. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a gambling problem…because I am usually not even playing for money. It’s just good old wholesome fun. Well, I guess playing cards in smokey rooms isn’t really wholesome, but whatever…good fun none-the-less. I played my first Texas hold ‘em game about a year ago and was just trying to remember what poker hands beat other ones.
Last night when I was playing online poker, I saw a Royal Flush for the first time in my illustrious poker career. I was so excited that about seeing a royal flush that I took a screen shot of it so I could show all of you new poker players out there what a royal flush looks like.
Royal Flush – Online Poker
It might seem that I am overly excited about seeing this winning hand, but honestly, this doesn’t happen very often. Shawn is the only person I know that got a royal flush in a real game…he went all in but unfortunately he was the short stack, so there weren’t many chips he could win back.
Also, one more important note, the picture of the Royal Flush, isn’t mine; it’s of another persons hand at the table that beat everybody!
Summer and I are dog lovers. It shouldn’t be a secret to any of you, you’ve probably seen random pictures of Monkey and Kuta on our blogs…but now, I am going to take it one step further. I am metamorphisizing into that wierd dog guy right before your eyes! AAAAhhhhh, I am posting a video of dogs doing funny things. I really like the dog playing the game of “territory” with the kid burried in the sand up to his/her head.
This picture has me thinking. I never really spent too much time in the “underworld” of anti-Microsoft until I started my company a couple of years ago. I just didn’t understand why all of the programmers I interviewed scoffed at our reliance on Microsoft products. Microsoft Windows and Office was all I used as an employee at bigger companies and in college, so what was the big deal with Microsoft products?
After spending the last couple of years with programmers that went blue in the face explaining that Microsoft products are like buying a car that you cant work on youself when it breaks down, you need to take it to the Official Dealer, I realized the downfall of using microsoft. Not to say that it doesn’t provide a great product for entry level computer users and companies that can afford to write off millions of dollars in licensing and support fees, I just know it’s not for me.
Microsoft Windows Vista Bootlegged
Getting this picture of a bootlegged copy of Vista with the license key written on the blank disk sitting on a Windows Vista Coming Soon… promo display sent to me by one of my close friends (programmer) had me thinking. There is a world of people laughing at the new Windows Vista Product launch and this is what their jokes look like.
A professional abalone diver was working off the coast of his home in New South Whales Australia when his world went black.
He was working in the ocean in about 25 feet (7.6 meters) of water free diving for abalone. The diver always worked with his son and had often discussed what to do if attacked by a shark, but never thought the day would come. Well, not only did it come, but he was attacked by the biggest fiercest fish in the sea, the great white shark.
The victim of the shark attack said he didn’t realize what was going on and before he knew it, his head, left arm and torso were inside the great whites mouth! Instinctively he used the only part of his body not in the sharks mouth (his right arm) to repeatedly punch the great white in the eye until the shark finally spit him out. Apparently the shark came in for attack number two but was scared off by this fierce diver. Somehow, the diver kept his cool, made it back to the surface and apparently screamed; “SHARK! Get me the hell out of the water!”
Australian rescue crews were alerted after an SOS call went across the radio indicating that someone had been attacked by a great white shark. The hellicopter, on recomendation from the doctors, flew the rescue chopper very low to the water in order to avoid the bends. He is currently in critical condition but expected to recover.
Being a surfer, any kind of shark attack story scares the hell out of me. I can’t believe this guy had the sense to punch a great white in the eye! Crazy.
